Virtual Summer Show Results

Jane Mullan

After the success of the previous lockdown Virtual Spring Show the British Palomino Society were more than happy to put on a Summer Spectacular to keep their members and fellow Palomino and Cream Dilute Owners happy!

The beauty being, that unlike some other online shows, entries had to be filmed and submitted the week before judging closed on the 12th July so the exhibits were as close as possible to how they would have been on the day, had the usual BPS show at Malvern gone ahead.

Prizes ranged from a free photo shoot, a hamper of Supreme products, Corscaron Horse Vouchers and a beautiful print from Maureen Prottey – so it was all to play for.

The standard was high, as always, with good numbers in all sections - as well as the fun classes being well supported. A particular favourite being the ‘Best Mane and Tail’, hairdressers were obviously still available to these horses and ponies during lockdown!

The ridden Palomino was well contested, with two junior members coming out on top. Champion going to Amy Edmondson on Glebedale Sugar Babe, and reserve to Miss Rose Cassapi Paskins on Llanafanfawr Bubbles – both beautiful and exceptionally well mannered Section A ponies.

Palomino In hand Champion went to Mrs Carolyn Cox  with Heniarth Cotton Gold, who went on to stand Reserve Best in Show also, and in-hand reserve going to the overall champion from the Spring show Miss H De Boorder & Ms A Mackley’s - Fencers Golden Addition.

However Standout star of the show was rider Bea Humpries – who was Champion Cream Dilute on Dun Dreamin and Reserve Cream Dilute with Burghwallis Panache. She also managed to bag Overall Best in Show on her own Dun Dreamin – a very worthy winner.

The British Palomino Society would like to thank all the sponsors, competitors and volunteers – and also thank the Judges Mrs. L Chambers, Ms. E Wyn Williams, Ms. L Evans and Ms. D West who had the hard task of placing the entries.

A full list of class placings can be found online at http://www.thebritishpalominosociety.co.uk/bps-national-championships, along with details of the Autumn Virtual Show – open to members, and non-members alike.
